Hello guys, it’s Feature Friday! Every Friday I would be sharing a real life experience and situation of a reader who needs my opinion. If you have a situation that you need my opinion on, email me on firstname.lastname@example.org.
Read the situation and my opinion after the cut. The names have been changed to protect the identity of the person being featured. Enjoy!
How are you today? My name is Naeto and I am a male hair stylist. I used to work under someone before I got laid off quite recently. Fortunately, I was able to gather the means to open my own salon through the help and support of my loyal customers.
Most of these customers that I speak of are truly very loyal to me and some of them contributed GRAVELY to the success of my salon but the problem is that they require much more than “hair styling” from me.
For some reason, not like I planned it, 98% of my clients are married women with kids and are also working class women like bankers. And when I say bankers, I mean managerial level not teller.
Like I said earlier, these women are very loyal to me. They’ve been with me from inception while I was working for someone else and also willingly moved with me after I got laid off and opened my own salon.
Some of them contributed to buying the TV in my salon, the hair dryer, steamer and one of them even signed as a surety for the bank loan I acquired. They sometimes even go to the extent of paying more than their bill just to show their support to me in this business venture.
They all sound wonderful don’t they? But the problem is that they want a bit more from me.
There’s one particular one that keeps offering to come to my house on Saturdays. I worship at The Seventh Day Adventist Church so I go to church on Saturday and do not open my salon on that day. So this woman would call me repeatedly telling me she wants to come to my house and see me.
Others would touch me inappropriately and I remember one that asked me to show her the way to the toilet. On getting there, she grabbed me and started grinding on my groins.
I know it is very easy for me to choose to give into their demands after all it is for my enjoyment but I am a very religious person and I would never indulge in such act.
So my question to you is how do I handle this situation without necessarily chasing them away? They may be terrible individuals but they are GREAT customers and at this time in my business, I absolutely need all the help I can get before I get back on my feet. The pressure is becoming too much and I have pretty much run out of excuses to give them. So I am asking you to please inform me on the next and right step to take. Thanks!
Thank you for writing in for Feature Friday. First of all, let me commend you for even thinking in this direction. Most guys will simply go for it with these women at the blink of an eye. You must be truly religious and all I can say is call on the God you believe in for help at this trying time.
I am a strong believer that people are brought into our lives for a reason and clearly those women were brought into your life to help you establish your business. I know it must be quite uncomfortable having them handle you inappropriately but I advice you hold on and remain strong at least until you have completely paid off your loan.
After your loan is paid off, you have my express permission and the permission of every married woman out there to CURSE THEM OUT! This time around you can tell them NO without any need to sugar coat it.
Their act is quite shameful and without a doubt should be treated with a shameful and embarrassing reaction.
But whatever you do, DO NOT welcome any of them into your home. Even if they call you a million times, do not pick up the phone or even give them your house address. Bringing them into your home gives more room for them to manhandle you and you might just end up giving in. After all, we’re all human!
So like I said, keep enduring the touching and inappropriate gestures been thrown at you UNTIL you have successfully paid off your bank loan then you can go ahead and give them a reaction that befits their ungodly action.
I hope I have helped you with your situation. Thanks again for sharing.
